Mananita "Flower", 27×15×7 cm, Gzhel
Gzhel is the most famous Russian folk craft, which is distinguished by a unique style of painting dishes and interior items made of ceramics.
Initially, gzhel was colored, and in the XVIII century, craftsmen began to use cobalt. This dark gray paint turns bright blue during the firing process.
Thus a recognizable Gzhel style appeared - a blue landscape and floral painting, which combines with a geometric ornament on a snow-white background. Wizards paint each item only by hand.
